Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, Mr. Swavely is a lifelong resident of Berks County. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Albright College in 1986 and his Juris Doctor Degree from Widener University School of Law in 1989. Mr. Swavely is a solo practitioner who maintains a general practice of law concentrating in the areas of family law, estate planning and administration, general civil litigation, personal injury, real estate, business, criminal defense and municipal law.
Mr. Swavely was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in 1989 and subsequently before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in 2001. He is a member of the Berks County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Solicitors and the Family Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
Mr. Swavely has over 30 years of experience managing all types of family law issues including divorce, property division, child custody, child support, spousal support and alimony, pre-nuptial agreements, and adoption. He also has extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation matters, including but not limited to contract disputes, landlord tenant matters, debt collections, and business disputes.
Mr. Swavely has also obtained noteworthy results in personal injury and wrongful death cases. He obtained a 1.35 million settlement on behalf of the estate of a man who was tragically killed in a tractor-trailer accident.
